Don W. James is founder and Chief Executive Officer of BEAR Data Solutions, Inc. Founded in 2004, BEAR Data has grown to include five sales and engineering offices throughout California. In 2008, BEAR Data was named the 23rd Fastest Growing Private Company in Northern California by the San Francisco Business Times and was ranked 20th on CRN Magazine’s Fast Growth. Mr. James has more than 15 years’ experience in the technology industry and built successful sales organizations as Vice President of Sales at two leading Bay Area technology firms.
A California native, Mr. James holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Diploma in Legal Studies from Oxford University.
Timothy E. Tonges, President and Chief Operating Officer
Timothy Tonges is responsible for architecting the corporate strategy that will drive rapid growth and the infrastructure to support that growth. He brings prior success in growth-oriented organizations and experience in mergers and acquisitions through the development of go-to-market plans and solution deliverables.
Mr. Tonges brings over 25 years of industry experience with technology startups and companies both public and private. Prior to joining BEAR Data, Mr. Tonges was President and Chief Operating Officer at a large national solution provider, which under his leadership grew from a $50 million dollar regional VAR to a $450 million dollar national solution provider.
Mr. Tonges was President of North American sales and marketing at Bell Microproducts, a $2.3 billion international storage-centric distributor. For 13 years, Mr. Tonges held various positions at Pomeroy IT Solutions, including Executive Vice President of Sales and Operations. During his tenure, he restructured the company and expanded its offerings to provide consulting, infrastructure, life-cycle and managed services to Fortune 1000 businesses throughout the United States, ultimately reaching $925 million in revenues.
Among other accomplishments, Mr. Tonges was the founder and CEO of DigiCad, Inc., a full-service networking and engineering services company. He is a member on multiple industry advisory councils and regularly speaks at industry events.
Mr. Tonges holds a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems with a Minor in Computer Science from University of Dayton.
Lantz Litchfield, Chief Technology Officer
Lantz Litchfield oversees the technology direction and vendor selection BEAR Data offers to its customers. He has created delivery methodologies that integrate the sales and professional service teams to provide a seamless customer experience. His engineering staff receives continual technology training and certification to keep them current with all IT solutions.
Prior to joining BEAR Data, Dr. Litchfield was Vice President of Professional Services at a large national solution provider. During his tenure he built their professional services organization tenfold to 170 certified engineers. He joined them through its acquisition of BMD Solutions, a provider of security consultancy, remediation and support company with an elite clientele of Federal agencies and Fortune 500 corporations. Prior to joining BMD, Dr. Litchfield worked at Corplinx, a business-class Internet service provider in the casino gaming industry.
Dr. Litchfield is a sought-after speaker at industry events. He is also an FAA-licensed pilot with commercial IFR certification for multiengine airplanes.
Dr. Litchfield is a CISSP and has more than 100 industry certifications, including Federal certifications from the NSI and NSA. He holds a Ph.D. in Information Technology from Concordia University.
Brad Thompson, Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing
Brad Thompson leads BEAR Data’s Sales and Marketing teams. Mr. Thompson brings over 15 years of proven industry experience in sales planning, development, growth and key go-to-market strategies. He manages all vendor, manufacturer, and distributor relationships and he concentrates on working with these key vendors, such as NetApp, Cisco, and VMware, to provide our clients with the most cost-efficient, scalable, and technologically advanced solutions. He also continues to expand the vendor offerings to provide a broad range of business technologies to enhance our client’s business.
Prior to joining BEAR Data, Mr. Thompson held two positions at a large national solution provider, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Field Operations in 2009 and Vice President of Sales from 2003 to 2008. During Mr. Thompson’s leadership revenues grew from $30M to over $470M with a CAGR of over 55 percent. Prior to joining, he held sales and management positions with Basis, Inc. and Avcom Technologies.
Mr. Thompson holds a Bachelor of Arts from University of California, Berkeley. He also completed the Wharton School of Business Executive Development Program at University of Pennsylvania.
Holly Anderson, Chief Financial Officer
Holly Anderson is the Chief Financial Officer for BEAR Data Solutions, Inc. Ms. Anderson has over 20 years of experience in financial operations and accounting experience in the computer electronics industry. Prior to joining BEAR, Ms. Anderson was CFO for Xtreme Home, a privately held custom electronics services contractor. Prior to that she served as CFO for Prosys Information Systems and the Latin America divisions of Bell Microproducts, a $3 billion publicly held computer products distributor. During her 15 years with Bell Micro, Ms. Anderson held various other management positions including Vice President of Finance, Corporate Secretary and Corporate Controller.
Ms. Anderson holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Concentration in Accounting from San Jose State University.
